------ ---Low Int Lulworth Cove

Low Int Lulworth Cove 11-14 May
with Barbara

11th May

Gathering at Cromwell House Hotel. This holiday was based for 3 nights at the Cromwell House Hotel in Lulworth Cove.

We gathered on a beautiful evening in the garden of the hotel for drinks before dinner and a chance to introduce ourselves.

We talked about the walk we'd do the next day - and several women were also interested in what else was coming soon in the WW Brochure.

We enjoyed dinner in the hotel before most of us chose an early night.

12th May

The village pond.Today we awoke to a slightly misty morning and one or two walked to the beach via the village pond before breakfast. The sea was perfectly calm.

Our route today took us up out of the village to the ridge where we paused before continuing on up past beautiful hedgerows full of wildflowers.

At the top of the ridge we looked inland over the fields before heading along an old drovers track.

We then headed back through the fields and down the ridge stopping for a break.

From here we returned to the hotel for our picnic lunch and some foot massage!

In the afternoon we decided to walk to Lulworth Castle.

Lulworth Castle.

We passed an unkown Roman soldier and headed through the grounds for a lovely, gentle and peaceful stroll before enjoying tea at the Castle café.

Later, we met for drinks and dinner, then 4 of us walked up to Stair Hole after supper to look at the full moon shining over the sea.

13th May

Leaving the castle. We gathered on Saturday morning to begin our walk along the coastal path.

The sun was beginning to break through and we stopped for a break to enjoy our first views of the sea before heading off to White Nothe.

We took another break at a tiny church hidden on the cliffs and enjoyed a moment's rest.

A sense of achievement prevailed after the ups and downs of the coastal path and we enjoyed looking along the coast and down to Durdle Door.

Tea back at the hotel.

We enjoyed a birthday tea for Val on our return to the Hotel before a rest, a shower and a jolly supper.

14th May

Stretches before the walk.We decided a group stretch would be a good idea before starting our walk on Sunday.

We then walked east out of the village up onto the Ranges, passing cowslips, wild orchids, and carpets of speedwell and violets.

The water was crystal clear, but after a paddle we decided that the water was too cold for a swim!

Women's Feedback

"Very enjoyable. The hotel was comfortable and in an ideal position to start the walks. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it. Barbara was a very fine guide. She looked after us and ensured we were all catered for with tolerance and good humour"

"Excellent, as an experienced WW participant, this was one of the most enjoyable. This was partly due to the comfort and accessibility of the hotel and the extraordinarily beautiful area, but mainly due to the ambience created by our superb guide".

"The holiday was everything that I'd hoped it would be with a lovely group of women and a very good guide". Venetia

"Good, comfortable and relaxed hotel, wonderful walks in an exceptionally beautiful area. It definitely met my expectations in every way". Jane C

"Great, it was what I thought it would be. It was the right sized group and very friendly. Barbara was very jolly and motivated us well. Lulworth Cove is a good destination with varied areas to walk in". Carol

"I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday with WW. I shared a room with a complete stranger, but because we shared a common interest in walking and scenery within minutes we were at ease with each other. Our guide was very helpful, considerate and paid equal attention to everyone, so we all felt included, which was a great feeling for those of us who were on our own initially. I would certainly recommend WW holidays to my friends and look forward to receiving your next brochure 'hot off the press'! Many thanks for a wonderful, invigorating short break". Jane H

"I had a really good time. As it was my first holiday with WW, I didn't know what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations. Everything was run perfectly from the booking to the actual holiday, thank you". Lynda

"This was a fabulous short break in a stunning location. We had magnificent coastline, great weather, interesting and varied company and a patient reassuring leader. Absolutely no hiccups except those resulting from the wine!"
