Low Int Lulworth Cove w/e 6-8 Oct
with Barbara

'The perfect recipe for Sloe Gin'

6th October

Friday afternoon walk.10 of us gathered at the Cromwell House Hotel in torrential rain and high winds but by the time we had checked in and organised ourselves the rain had stopped and we set off for our extra Friday afternoon walk in good spirits.

Looking back at Lulworth village.

We walked up through the village and onto the coastal path to the east, giving us a good view inland.

Walking onto the east side of the cove.

As the Army Ranges were closed for firing practice we walked down onto the east side of the cove.

From here we enjoyed the views out along the coast.

The signs of autumn were all around.

Walking along the beach.

We walked down into the cove and along the beach, some of us resting on a stray chair along the way!

On the way back to the hotel we stopped for tea and cakes at the Beach Café in lovely afternoon sun.

As it was a good afternoon 6 of the group drove up to Moreton to visit the church and the grave of T E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia). The church at Moreton contains the most beautiful and unusual etched windows.

Beautiful blue sky.

Watching the moon from Stair Hole.

We met the last member of the party who arrived in time for a good supper before all of us walked up to Stair Hole to watch the full moon glisten across the night sea.

7th October

Sorting out our packed lunches. On Saturday morning we gathered our picnic things and set off west out of the village.

Setting off westwards from the village.

We passed a party on a partridge shoot much to the disapproval of some of our group!

Headed for the the cliff path.

The sun shone and the coastal path beckoned us along with plenty of stops to have a drink, marvel at the views of the coast and Portland Bill, or take a rest!

We paused at a very remote post box perched on the cliff top - Kate works for Royal Mail and loved it!

We then took a moment to rest at a tiny church of St Catherines where we enjoyed the sun and the peace.

Women's Feedback

"It was great. The countryside is wonderful and the cream teas irresistible and the sea fabulous. Barbara is an excellent guide. She knows the area well, nothing is too much trouble and she chats to everyone and helps the group to gel". Amanda

"Great - beautiful scenery and lots of fun. So nice to walk with people without any competition - I had a bad experience with another company in a mixed group and a difficult group leader. I think I spoke to everyone - what a talented and different group of women. Barbara was excellent, she held the group so we could stretch ourselves or not depending on how we felt… running a group is an art and Barbara has it! I will definitely tell women friends about you. Excellent!"

"First time in a group walking holiday. It was fabulous - hotel spotless, comfortable with excellent food, walks breathtaking, group that gelled almost immediately and Barbara was delightful, professional, entertaining, caring. It couldn't have been better AND the sun and moon shone so all good!" Annie

"Holiday was very good and I enjoyed it very much. Scenery was great with magnificent coastal views. Barbara looked after us very well and she made us all feel very welcome. This was my first time with WW and it is a lovely way to meet and make new friends. It's very nice to go walking with like-minded people. The walking was great but was also relaxing… I shall come away with you again!" Lynne

"Well organised, even travel advise and other contacts, that make the holiday easy to book. Great website as well. Well done to all those who work hard all year to give us walkers a good holiday. Barbara walked with us, a friendly companion and one of the group, whilst having a canny way of helping us to be a cohesive group in a short time. The choice of coastal walks was stunning and so good to be able to walk from the hotel into the countryside. There is this special something about WalkingWomen holidays that is impossible to express adequately - fun, laughter, chatting, walking in companionable silence, just being together in lovely places with good leadership". Janet

"I enjoyed the holiday immensely. A lot of fun and I hope to do another one very soon".

"Had a wonderful time - exceeding my expectations. Barbara was perfect and I loved the choice of walks. Food at the hotel was also very good for a 2 star hotel. I will definitely go with WW again".
