We all arrived at East Trewent Farm, and were warmly welcomed by Pat and Peter who run the farm. Pat had also kindly picked up several women from the railway station near by earlier in the afternoon.
That evening we had a very delicious meal cooked by Pat, and we spent an enjoyable evening getting to know each other. The B&B is made up of several cottages joined together (which are sometimes rented out separately for self-catering). A really nice and friendly place to stay. |

![]() We were picked up promptly from the farm by our minibus driver who drove us to Amroth. ![]() ![]() ![]() The weather was overcast, and there had been a dusting of snow in the night. We had more as we walked, and at one point even hail! ![]() However, even today there were moments when the sun shone briefly. ![]() We made our way along the coast near Amroth beach, then up into woodland briefly before passing Wiseman's Bridge. ![]() ![]() At Sandersfoot we walked along the beach some more. It was good that we were hitting low tide for much of the day rather than being forced onto the front by waves.
Beyond the small harbour we headed up into woodland on our way to Monkstone Point with rocks going out into the sea... ![]() ![]() ![]() Beyond Monkstone Point we dropped down towards Waterwynch Bay for our lunch - finding a sheltered spot in the entrance of a cave. ![]() After lunch the skies brightened and the clouds blew away for a while. It was delightful to walk on the wet sand of Waterwynch Bay. ![]() ![]() ![]() From here we had only a short distance to Tenby where we stopped for tea or toffee. ![]() A hotel on the seafront had suffered a fire, closing the road, which was one reason why we were being picked up from Penally. ![]() The beaches were all fabulous and we marvelled at how in a couple of months time they would be heaving with people. ![]() Along Tenby south beach we found 2 little huts made up from drift wood and rubbish that had been washed in by the tide. Our minibus picked us up from Penally and took us back to the farm. Everyone was getting on as though they'd known each other for years. After another delicious home-cooked meal we played games. Pat and Peter were thoroughly fantastic. They joined in with the fun of wearing silly hats at dinner. Nothing was too much trouble for them. |

![]() ![]() We had a lovely day for it. The sea was as calm as a mill pond, the sky was blue and the sun warm. ![]() It felt like spring - and spring is glorious in Pembrokeshire. We passed horses grazing on the cliffs beyond Giltar Point. ![]() ![]() ![]() Looking forward towards Lydstep Point we could see the striking limestone cliffs of Proud Giltar... ![]() Everywhere we looked there were cowslips and wild garlic. The gorse was golden in colour with a wonderful coconut aroma. ![]() The path has undergone some much needed work. Where in places the undergrowth had become overgrown it is now a very nice 1m wide path. ![]() Beyond Lydstep we were soon looking down on Skrinkle Haven with its distinctive bay split into adjacent coves by perpendicular cliffs... ![]() We stopped for lunch here, but also paused several times along our route to enjoy the new views around each headland and corner. ![]() Beyond Skrinkle we had to head inland for a while, then regained the coast just before Manobier Castle, built in the 12th Century and still impressive. ![]() ![]()
Walking on from Manobier the views continued, and before heading inland to the farm, we gained a long view down the coast as far as St Govan's Head. ![]() ![]() ![]() When we got back to the farm, there were delicious scones and cake waiting for us! |

![]() ![]() Our route was to take us through more amazing scenery without too many ups and downs. ![]() First we walked up onto Trewent Point and started towards Greenala Point - the next headland. ![]() It was another glorious day, and many of us were walking in shirt sleeves. ![]() ![]() Beyond Greenala we continued on along the cliffs to Stackpole Quay where we could look down on the striking stacks and rocks of Stackpole Quay. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just beyond Stackpole, we stopped for lunch on Barafundle beach. The sun and sea invited a paddle! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Beyond lay Stackpole Head, a long finger like peninsula of limestone cliffs pointing dramatically out into the sea... ![]() ![]() ![]() A little further on we looked down on the sandy expanse of Broad Haven below Bosherston. ![]() ![]() ![]() To reach Bosherston we now turned inland, walking past Bosherston's attractive Lily Ponds ![]() ![]() ![]() Our path brought us out to famous Mrs Westons tea shop to finish this fabulous day with delicious tea and cake Pat and Peter came to collect us in their landrovers. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was another beautiful day for such scenery - rocky headlands, needle eye rocks, islands just off the points... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then the nature of the scenery changed again as we rounded the coast to enter Milford Haven and started to see big oil tankers and the Irish ferry. ![]() Angle Bay was beautifully shaped, enclosed by two arms of headland... ![]() ![]() ![]() We continued on beyond Angle, making this our longest walking day. The weather was so good it seemed a shame to cut it short... |

![]() ![]() We thanked Pat & Peter for their kindness and wonderful hospitality, then we drove to Pembroke to walk out along the estuary coast. ![]() In fact we walked to within one mile of the previous days end point. The weather held fine, and we counted ourselves very blessed. ![]() Lots of goodbyes in Pembroke before we finally went our separate ways. It had been a very successful holiday - the first for WW along this particular stretch of the Coast Path. |
Women's Feedback
"Excellent walking, a very friendly group and great accommodation. Holiday exceeded my expectations. Excellent accommodation, great attention to detail, nothing was too much trouble. The food was plentiful and of a very high standard. Thoroughly recommend this venue. Yes Polly was very encouraging but also let us walk at our own pace". Sheila
"I enjoyed it very much. The walking was great, the views spectacular and the weather simply amazing. I'd have liked more walking on some days - 10-12 miles day, which we didn't do some days due to the weather. It was a very friendly and funny group, excellent company. Pat and Peter were wonderful, hugely welcoming and hospitable. Pat is a fantastic cook - I cam back having put weight on - not part of the plan! Polly was a fine guide, knew the area extremely well and judged the mood of the group pretty well. Tea shop stops frequent and very welcome. Hope to do further hols later in the year." Bronwen.
"Enjoyment - yes - very much so. I worried about my fitness for the walks but managed. No problems other than 1 blister. Pat and Peter were the friendliest of hosts. Please use this venue again! Polly was considerate and helped me individually because I was always the back person. Good mix of company. I shared a room and she was friendly and helpful." Sarah
"Had a fantastic time on my first WW holiday and will definitely use the company again. A great group of women who gelled really well as a group. Enjoyed being in small group where it was possible to talk to and get to know everyone over the five days. Great place to stay - very comfortable. Fantastic home-cooked food and 2 wonderful hosts in Pat and Pete who did everything to make sure we were well looked after. Polly was a great guide. Good walks, which showed the beauty and industrialisation of the area." Maria
"I had a very enjoyable holiday in Pembrokeshire. The snow on day one didnt spoil it at all - in fact was very special. And hailstones, after all, bounce off you :) But the sun after that day was warm and the spring flowers beautiful. It really is scenery to die for. I have a Welsh tan - that rarest of things! What can I say about Peter and Pat at the Guest House - both such good sports, lovely people who run a great place - very comfortable and just right. Peter's breakfasts were A1, Pat's evening meals excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended. Half way through I realised I recognised some of the walk and it was a welcome return to Manorbier, Tenby and Bosherston." Ruth
"It was an excellent package. The walks were well planned, organised and all needs of group members accommodated. The coastline was surprisingly beautiful and exceeded all expectations for a fabulous walking expense. The amount of care that has been put into the planning of this holiday was obvious and paid good dividend as it was such a success. The accommodation is excellent, both Peter and Pat could not have been more helpful and both the sleeping arrangements, food and transport were excellent. Polly is wonderful. She has an incredible talent for empowering the group to be whatever the group will be - I found her to be genuine, a great laugh, incredibly competent and truly a good leader. " Debs
"Absolutely great - best one I have been on. The walking and scenery was outstanding - even the weather was on our side - snow on day 1 made it more exciting! The company made it more enjoyable and Pat and Peter joined in the fun. I was in the family cottage which sleeps five - there was only one bathroom which made mornings interesting! Apart from only 1 loo everything else was fine. I thought Polly did very well considering she had a bad cold for most of the time. The walks varied in length but were all different in character and the scenery was amazing. Polly joined in the with group but was not intrusive. As stated it was the best I have been on so far."
