A new Yorkshire Dales venue for WW Lesbian Break - though it's hardly a new venue for WalkingWomen! High Trenhouse has long been a favourite with WW groups - a beautifully converted farm and barn near peaceful Malham Tarn on the edge of the moors above Malham Cove and Gordale. The Pennine Way from Malham Cove passes close by on its way over Fountains Fell to Pen-y-ghent, and across the moors are interesting paths to the pretty village of Arncliffe and the lively town of Settle with its tearooms and small shops. High Trenhouse offers a large number of single rooms - a boon for WW groups - and most have ensuite facilities. There are comfortable spaces for relaxing or making our own fun including a small honesty bar. The food is delicious, and there's even a sauna and Jacuzzi - so bring your swimsuit! On one night we'll arrange a party so bring your favourite CDs too! There will be an inexpensive shared taxi from nearby Settle station at 4pm to make it easy to come by train.

Travel - nearest train stations: Settle station - we will arrange a 4pm shared taxi from the station to High Trenhouse. Let us know if you want to be included.

For this fun holiday in Derbyshire we have reserved all the rooms at Losehill Hall 15 minutes walk from Castleton village where the landscapes of the White and the Dark Peak meet. The walks will explore the dales and ridges near by: fascinating Cavedale, Edale, and the Hope river valley; the great ridge of Rushup Edge and Mam Tor, the Kinder Edges with their rocky ourcrops, or the Abney Moor circuit finishing with great ice cream at Bradwell! Losehill Hall is a lovely old Victorian mansion set in its own extensive grounds and run on eco-centre lines (everything is recycled, ensuite showers instead of baths, & communal tea/coffee facilities…). The Hall has a good bar and a comfortable lounge - which is also great for partying! Ensuite twins, ensuite doubles, & smaller ensuite singles are available - enough for everyone on the holiday to have a single room, and there's no single supplement to pay!

Yes, the original WW Lesbian Break is back at Glenthorne in 2010 - and the Lake District will be in full autumn colour! There'll be gentle walks mainly in the valleys - beside streams and lakes, or climbing low hills for the view. Intermediate walks can range from wonderful ridges to beautiful lakes and waterfalls in the hills. Or you can set your sights on some of England's highest 'fells' - the Fairfield Horseshoe, High Raise, Bow Fell, the dramatic Langdale Pikes, or even Helvellyn if we start early. We'll be staying at Glenthorne Guest House where we've run lesbian holidays for years. The bedrooms are mostly ensuite with plenty of singles. There's a comfortable lounge, an airy conservatory, and a lovely garden with views in 3 directions. The food is also excellent! After walking there are outdoor shops and tea shops, games of whatever we choose, trips to the pub, a party on one evening, or space to sit around talking. There are frequent buses from Windermere station to Grasmere; then it's just 4 minute walk.
