Gill McMillan

Gill took to walking in a big way in her mid-40’s, to help resolve life’s issues and enjoy the outdoors. After discovering the joy and peace it brought, she trained as a Mountain Leader and has happily worn out many pairs of boots since, guiding folk up and around Scotland and the north of England.

Her pleasure in the outdoors has taken her up mountains and across countries, but the greatest joy is in sharing her enthusiasm with others. As a one-time Occupational Therapist two things are of particular interest to her: the restorative power of walking; and exploring historical routes. She likes to add some tall tales from folklore too, as she feels it helps to understand previous generations and how they related to the landscapes they lived in.
