This is our first holiday where dogs come first – 6 dogs are welcome with their well-behaved owners. We stay in a hidden gem of a hotel with its lawn for lolling dogs and nearby beaches to run and soak up the sea air.
We have 14 miles of the dramatic Glamorgan Heritage coastline on our doorstep. We will also venture into the surrounding rolling hills and country lanes – perfect for a leisurely autumn break to meet new doggy friends and discover the gorgeous Vale of Glamorgan.
The West House is tucked in a corner of the ‘old town’ in Llantwit Major close to a variety of cafes, restaurants and pubs. They are set up for welcoming many dogs and we have chosen this hotel for that reason.Dogs are allowed in rooms, in restaurants and throughout the hotel.
For Gavin and Stacey lovers Barry Island is only 10 miles away. You can visit familiar places and enjoy a cuppa or ice cream.
There is so much to explore together.
Our dogs tell us they love running free off lead so we have listened and our walks will follow the format recommended by our dog advisers. Walks will depend on the weather and may change at the discretion of our guide.
An after breakfast off lead beach run returning to the hotel for a cuppa.
A walk of 4-5 km with options to turn back
Return to the hotel with time to relax before an evening meal.
An evening beach run for those energetic dogs and humans.
