Elizabeth Gaskell, Emmeline Pankhurst, Carol Anne Duffy, Marie Stopes are just a few. We also have the sportswoman Ethel Lowry and the women footballers of the city. We have hired a private cinema(mini cine on Ducie Street, near Piccadilly Station ) to have a film and food night on Saturday. Starts at 6pm. Do join us to kick off our brand new series of walks celebrating women. Please book online and pay to reserve your place £25 for one event or £50 for both - when you get to payment on the invoice page just pay 2 x £25 if you would like both events. Any problems call us on 01784 664063. Thank you

Dates:Saturday March 11th . Walk starts at 11am until 4pm and Mini Cine Starts at 18.00 until 9pm or longer if you would like to stay for drinks at the bar.

Walking Grade: 1 Goat as we explore Manchester at a leisurely pace on our Saturday Day walk. In the evening the film Suffragette as Manchester was where the Suffragette movement began and so it seems very apt to end the day with a private screening. This will be followed by the film Two Goats about women walking with both the Director and the Non Executive producer in attendance. An evening meal is included in the price and will be served at the mini cine.

Meeting Point : We offer this trip as a Saturday day walk starting at 11am outside the Ducie Street Warehouse and a film evening at 6pm at the Mini Cine, Ducie Street near to Piccadilly Station https://duciestreet.com/whats-on/

If you would like accommodation, let us know, and we can help arrange it.

Price: £50 per person for the Saturday activities or £25 each. When booking please pay £25 if you are joining one event or £50 if you are joining both –  you will need to pay 2 x £25 . If you need help booking just email us or call.

Two million people a year visit Manchester – one of England’s most visited northern cities. We decided it is time to include this cultural, fun, historic city in the WalkingWomen holiday Programme. We want to help women discover a side of places that is sometimes hidden – the side that showcases and celebrates the lives of women that have helped shape the space.

Manchester has women artists, actors, entrepreneurs, designers, writers, musicians, sportswomen and so much more. Our guide Emma Fox will guide you around her city to tell you stories whilst you walk. You will walk the urban streets as well as the green spaces of the city to see the variety that makes up Manchester.

You will also eat and drink in interesting places run by women and on Saturday night we have taken over a private cinema to watch a full length film plus a short film about women walking and have an evening meal together.

If you need a little fun and excitement for a March weekend this may be just the thing.

Itinerary may change depending on weather and at the discretion of the guide

11am – walking tour of Manchester connecting with green spaces and hearing stories of interesting women and their northern lives. Meet outside Dulcie Street Warehouse.

18.00 Dulcie Street Mini Cine – private film showing of Suffragette. Food is included and there is a bar for purchase of drinks. Following the film we are showing a brand new short film Two Goats about women walking.
