DETAILS

Our base is Jury’s Inn because of it’s location over looking the Tyne and because of the quality and comfort of the accommodation.

As we arrive on Sunday it is close by the Quayside market which is on until 4 pm for those who arrive early. At 5pm we will meet together at the hotel where our local guide Pam will lead a short stroll nearby taking in a riverside drink and dinner together.

Our walks will include a City Highlights tour to gain knowledge of the history, architecture and culture of Newcastle. We will also visit some of the well known sites and art centres of the city. The imposing Angel of the North sculpture by Anthony Gormley is a must see!

We will also explore Old Newcastle, Blackfriars and Chinatown as well as the increasingly trendy Ouseburn area, with its industrial heritage and many bridges.

This is a short summer break with a rich introduction to all Newcastle has to offer as well as a chance to meet new people and share local food, drink and chat together.

Our guide will vary the walks depending on weather and the specific interests of the group but you can expect the following:
