The Joys of Hiking in Autumn

Autumn is a beautiful time of year, especially here in the UK. The leaves start to change colour, the air gets a little crisper, and there’s nothing better than cosying up in a pub or a cosy cafe with friends after a long walk. Walking is also great for our well-being, so what better way to spend some time this Autumn than by getting out and about on one of our walking breaks.

 Why We Love Autumn walks

There are plenty of reasons to love hiking in the autumn months. Here are just a few:

  • The scenery is full of colour and vibrancy. There’s something special about seeing the leaves changing colour as you walk through the countryside.
  • As winter draws in with it’s darker nights it is good to make time for your loved ones. So many of us live alone and what better way to enjoy company than walking outside and connecting with old and new friends?
  • We all know that exercise is good for us, but sometimes it’s hard to motivate ourselves to get out and do it. Walking in a group is a great way to be encouraged.

We also like the chance to do a little foraging – finding those wild blackberries or maybe even some mushrooms if you know what you’re looking for. We love seasonal food and autumn apples are a lovely addition to the autumn packed lunch!

Take a look at our UK Autumn holidays to join us .. and look out for more across the seasons in 2023. We love ideas too.
