WalkingWomen and Kids for Kids working in Partnership
WalkingWomen has partnered with Kids for Kids because we share the same values. We both believe in the power of women and the importance of education. We are both passionate about investing in a sustainable future for those in areas of the world that struggle the most.
Kids for Kids works to improve the lives of children living in poverty in Sudan. What we love is that they work to empower women and help them start their own businesses with goats at the heart of what they do. This has been called the best micro finance scheme with women being given or loaned goats to give vital milk to their children but also to breed more goats to support more families. The projects are entirely run by the community for the community and keep going and growing – truly sustainable.
The Power of goats, donkeys and chickens!
Kids for Kids run many fantastic projects but we have chosen to support the one providing goats to families. Goats are an important part of life for many families in Darfur as they provide a source of income and food. Not only do they provide milk and meat for families, but they also produce dung which can be used as fuel and fertilizer. Kids for Kids has been working in Darfur since 2002 and providing over 10,000 goats to families.
We are proud to support Kids for Kids and their important work. For each holiday booked with WalkingWomen a percentage will go towards buying a goat. By working together, we can play our part in getting more goats to families in Darfur.
