She, like us, had taken over a business which was founded by an inspirational woman Evelyn Hanson in 1994. Both women believed passionately about solo travel and supporting women to feel safe and equipped to travel alone. Sharing experiences – “I have made three trips (so far) with WalkingWomen under its new management and as others have said, the wonderful thing is the care that is taken with every aspect of each holiday. Walking guides have been supremely knowledgeable about their locations and, while having a pre-planned walk schedule for each day, have nevertheless had the flexibility to adapt and tailor the walks to the group and to take account of individual capabilities. Taking note of the number of ‘Goats’ before booking, will indicate the overall fitness level required for a particular holiday, while the friendly owners Ginny and Sara are always on hand to advise if anyone has any queries. “Extraordinary in every way – My first trip with Walking Women will not be my last. Getting from Texas to Cumbria UK was an adventure in itself . From the time I booked until I arrived the WalkingWomen team were responsive and helpful. The accommodations were unique and inspiring. The hiking was loads of fun, the scenery breathtaking. Our guide Jo was competent , fun and knowledgeable. The whole thing was so thoughtfully coordinated that all I had to worry about was enjoying myself.
