Why WalkingWomen go on Safari in Africa in 2023

August is our one year anniversary of owning and running WalkingWomen. We have already started planning our 2023 programme. We will continue to offer the popular WalkingWomen classics as well as more holidays in areas that we have connection with and know well. But this is not all – we seek out adventurous women doing spectacular things that we can share with you. We found Alison Mees who has a deep connection with Kenya and has been taking people on Safari here for many years. She is a talented photographer and we share some of her photos in this video to give you a flavour of this very special holiday.

The Great Masai Mara Ecosystem

Seeing animals wild and free is one of those experiences you will never forget. We spend time in The Mara Ol Kinyei which is the Masai Mara’s oldest conservancy established within the Great Masai Mara Ecosystem. Wildlife is free to roam without having to navigate man made barriers and we will stay in one of only two safari camps, in the area. This is just one part of the trip as you learn about wildlife photography, about the protection of wildlife through conservancies, about the life of the local people and about the animals who roam this expansive land.

This is a unique small group trip. If you want to hear more please join our zoom with Alison on Sept 15th 7pm UK time.
