SUMMARY

Dates: Saturday Jan 28th to Sunday Feb 5th with an option to stay longer if requested

Walking Grade: 1 Goat as walks are not high or strenuous. This is a combination of walking and game drives.

Base: 1 night on arrival in Eka Hotel Nairobi and then travel to Amboseli together to stay in a camp for 3 nights. We then move to the Porini Mara Camp in the Masai area for 4 nights. We return to Nairobi for departures on Sunday Feb 5th.

Price: £4300 per person for this once in a lifetime unique Safari which gives you the opportunity to have an exclusive small group experience. No crowds !

For those wanted solo occupancy ( single room in hotel and single tent on Safari ) throughout there is an additional cost of £800 for the holiday

Not included: Travel & Medical Insurance Cover, Return flights and Visas for Kenya (currently $50), Lunch and Dinner on last day, any tips.

We will help all our guests with getting visas and send you the link for the official online application. We recommend getting it 1 or 2 weeks before travel.

Flights from the UK are currently between £600 and £850 return with British Airways or Kenya Airways.

Please note baggage allowance for safari flights is strictly 15kgs per person inclusive of hand luggage and in soft bags. For an extra cost of $50USD you can buy extra luggage space.. Or if you are extended your holiday and need more we can arrange for you to leave a bag securely until your return from Safari.

An amazing combination of walking, game drives, photography opportunities and supporting local conservation and communities on safari.
An 8 night wildlife and community adventure awaits you, the experience in this beautiful country, taking home great photos, memories and making new friends.

You will see elephants, lions and all the African wildlife in their natural habitat. With a small group we go quietly and with respect for the land and it’s people and animals. This is a WalkingWomen very special exclusive trip with Alison and our local partner Gamewatchers.

We will be supporting women’s community projects as much as possible.

If you are interested in visiting the elephant orphanage in Nairobi we recommend arriving 1 day earlier or staying 1 day later as since Covid visiting times have changed to between 11-12 each morning.

ITINERARY

Suggested Itinerary which is flexible on the ground:

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to the Eka Hotel on Bed and Breakfast basis overnight – single room

Day 2 Early breakfast and transfer to Wilson Airport for your flight to Amboseli – it’s the land of elephants. We will be spending 3 nights at Porini Amboseli camp, Selenkay Conservancy.We arrive before lunch, check in followed by lunch together. At 4pm we depart for our afternoon walk to a Masai Village, learn about the Masai culture and traditions. From there we meet the vehicle and continue on a game drive for sundowners, followed by a night drive looking for the nocturnal animals. Return to camp for dinner.

Day 3 We have a full day game drive in the National Park with a picnic lunch. Return to camp late afternoon, in time for a sundowner at a platform that overlooks a waterhole, this is a great time to sit and watch the wildlife come and drink. Dinner at camp.

Day 4 Early morning walk in the Conservancy, we will walk to a platform for breakfast overlooking the waterhole. Returning to camp for lunch. After lunch we will meet or drive to the girls sanitary pad project and learn about the importance of this project which ensures girls are able to go to school – we donate a % of your trip to this project. Afterwards we can do a walk or game drive in the Conservancy.

Day 5 Take an early morning game drive in the Conservancy followed by breakfast or sleep in if preferred. We depart to the airstrip for the 8:30am flight to Nairobi and then connect to the 10am Mara flight, arriving approx. 11am. We will then do a short game drive to Porini Mara Camp. Check in and lunch. At 4pm we will depart for an afternoon game drive in Ol Kinyei Conservancy and stop for sundowners, watching the sun set. Back to camp for dinner.

Day 6 Early morning game drive in Naboisho Conservancy, where we will come across the Lotia Wildebeest Migration – this time of year the wildebeest are calving, so spending time out in amongst the herds. Picnic breakfast on the African Plains. Return to camp for lunch. Late afternoon walking safari, stop for a sundowner watching the sun set and return to camp. Before dinner an informal talk by the Conservancy Manager about the conservancy and how it is supporting the local communities and conservation through tourism.

Day 7 Early morning game drive, visit to the MAA trust after a picnic breakfast. Spend time with the different women’s projects they have set up, giving Masai women empowerment. Back to camp for lunch. After afternoon tea, walking safari on the plains, stop for a sundowner drink watching the sun set, where we will meet the vehicle and continue with a night drive – back to camp for dinner.

Day 8 An early morning walk in the Conservancy walking to our breakfast, enjoy breakfast in the bush. Walk back to camp. Time to relax, have lunch. Afternoon we will depart for an afternoon game drive in the Conservancy, looking for the Big Cats and more…., stop at a location for sundowners watching the sun set, then slow drive back to camp.

Day 9 Early morning game drive and return back to camp for breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for the 11am flight to Nairobi arriving approx. 1pm. You will then be either transferred to the International Airport for your flight home or drive to a Nairobi Hotel for a few hours to relax and have lunch/dinner (on your own account) before being transferred to the International Airport for Your flight
