SUMMARY
Date: Sunday June 28th to Sunday July 5th – 7 nights and 8 days.

Walking Grade: Goat 2 – we grade this as Goat 2 – the walks are steady as we trek the heart of Norway. There are walks between 6km/4 miles and 20km/12.4 miles per day with a rest day in the middle.. This is a walking holiday with lots of cultural experiences and a chance to experience other Norwegian activities such as a floating sauna,kayaking or a visit to see local production of glass and shoes.
You do need to be fit to walk 6-20km and be active most of the day
Max elevation: 300m and maximum descent 800m.
Terrain – mixed terrain with some rocky sections but mostly smooth.
Max distance: 20km/ 12.4 miles

Base: You start your trip in Bergen where we stay a night at the Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz (a local partner of WalkingWomen) We leave from Bergen by boat on Monday morning at 8am.
You then move on staying 2 nights in each hotel:
Arrivals: The meeting point is Bergen. Arrive Sunday afternoon to meet the WalkingWomen team around 17:00 for a briefing at the hotel and a short orientation before dinner together. We will do pick ups from the airport and train stations from 15:00 on Sunday afternoon to take you to your hotel.
Departures: From Bergen. We will travel back to Bergen and we will deliver you to the airport or train station in Bergen – expect to arrive at around noon. We recommend flights after 16:00.
You may want to stay longer in Norway and we can help with plans.
Price: £2800 person for this fully inclusive, unique experience travelling across the heart of Norway ( if you bring a friend/partner and share a room the price is £2100 per person)

Day 1 Sunday : Arrival in Bergen
Meet at Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz, Bergen at 17.00. Evening meal together and briefing about your trip.
Day 2 Monday To Aurland
08:00 Departure by boat from Bergen – Aurland
Duration 5,5 hours
This is a magnificent boat ride, along the worlds longest open fjord, Sognefjorden, the King of Fjords
13:30 Transfer to Østerbø Fjellstove by private bus
Duration 2 hours, including a small hike to Turlidfossen Waterfall
15:30 check in to Østerbø hotel
19:00 Dinner at the hotel together
Day 3 Tuesday To Steinbergdalen.
07:30 Breakfast
Public Transport to Steinbergdalen.
Brief stop at the old tourist cabin, hike back to Østerbø.
Duration 3-5 hours , 12 km in high mountain terrain.
19:00 Dinner back at hotel Osterbo together
Day 4 The Aurlandsdalen Valley – the Grand Canyon of Norway
07:30 Breakfast
09:00 hike the Aurlandsdalen Valley 20 km/ 12.4 miles
Duration 6-7 hours, descending from 800m
16:00 pick up by private bus. Duration 20 min
Check in at Hotel Aurlandsfjord, located in the middle of the picturesque town of Aurland.
19:00 Dinner
Day 5 Leg rest day! Enjoy the area on your own.
Suggested activities: floating sauna, kayaking, glass blowing studio, shoe factory or visit Stegastein viewpoint, Flåm or Gudvangen Viking village by shuttle bus from the town center.
Dinner at Hotel Aurlandsfjord together
Day 6 Onwards to Flam
07:30 Breakfast
Today will be focussed around the beautiful Flamsbana Train to Vatnahalsen Høyfjellshotell. Duration 1,5 hours
We will have a hike to explore the local area
19:00 Dinner at Vatnahalsen Hotel
Day 7 – the famous Rallarvegen
07:30 Breakfast
09:00 train to Hallingskeid
Hike back to Vatnahalsen
Duration 5-6 hours, 15 km, mostly flat along the famous Rallarvegen
Return to hotel Vatnahalsen
19:00 Dinner
Day 8 Return to Bergen
07:30 Breakfast
09:00 Train back to Bergen to arrive around 12 noon.
