Such a hit in 2025 we had to return. Walks amongst lavender and sunflowers, refreshing swims in the Ardeche river, tunnels and red cliffs - so much variety. Marie’s Guesthouse is a little haven at the end of the day and to sit in the garden after days out was a treat. Come and experience for yourself.

DETAILS
Suze-la-Rousse is a picturesque village in Drôme Provençale, known for its 12th-century medieval château, a historic military fortress. Surrounded by 1,600 hectares of AOC vineyards, lavender fields, and truffle orchards, the village offers charming cobblestone streets with local shops, bars, and restaurants, embodying the rustic beauty of Provence.
Amongst walks and visits we will also go to a local French market, taste cheese, wine, olives and other local produce. This is a cultural trip as well as a walking holiday.
We expect to split our days into two walks depending on the heat. A morning walk of a couple of hours (approx. 5/7 kms) and another one in the afternoon or early evening.
We will take a picnic lunch or stop in a local simple restaurant for the ‘plat du jour’.
Each evening we will eat together – mostly ant the hotel. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the garden and the pool.
